The plastic surface is manufactured in Germany and mixed with silver compounds to achieve an antimicrobial effect confirmed by testing according to ISO 22196. The added compounds interrupt vital processes on and in the bacterial cells and ultimately kill the bacteria, fungi, mold, and also act against viruses. This is an ongoing process (completely safe for humans) that will help to protect the user throughout the life of the pen.
