TiMe To Face Your Fears for charity

From the 1st of October, four TM members of staff will be taking part in our biggest charity event to date titled TiMe To Face Your Fears.

The charity we are fundraising for is East Anglia's Children's Hospice (EACH). EACH operates across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. The specially trained EACH team provide emotional and physical support to children and their families through any difficulties they may face, helping them to make the most of their lives. This can be done through visits to their own homes or at one of the three special hospices run by EACH.

Each Monday of October, our fans across social media will be introduced to a different member of the team who is willing to 'face their fears'. Each staff member has been given three activities which they must do if the money is raised. The amount each person raises will determine which fear they face and how scary it is.

The first week you will be introduced to Liz. As you may remember, Liz was the first member of staff we employed at Total Merchandise and has been with us for seven years. She has listed her biggest fear as the dark and ghosts. If Liz meets her fundraising target of £600, Liz will go to an organised séance which will test her nerves and conquer her fears of both the dark and ghosts.

On week two we will introduce you to Katie who will be facing her fear of small spaces and falling. If she meets her fundraising target of £600, she will be facing her fear by participating in a caving event. This will really test her nerves as it involves crawling through small tunnels of caves, you can't turn back so the only way is forward.

The third week will see Laura facing her fear of flying. If Laura meets her £600 target she will climb abroad a stunt plane. As someone who is scared of passenger planes, this will really test her stomach as she travels in a small two-seater which goes fast, upside down and in circles. She will be able to feel every bump on this ride.

Finally, Natalie will face her fear of heights. If your donations meet Natalie's fundraising target of £600 she will complete a bungee jump for charity. This will involve jumping from a very big height, held by just an elastic cord. An activity which is sure to make anyone with a fear of heights squirm.

This charity is very close to the team at Total Merchandise's hearts. Being based in Essex and with our directors living in the Suffolk area, it is a local charity to us all and we want to raise as much money as we can for EACH. Whilst we will be showing different videos each week, you can continue to donate to all four members of staff from now until the 2nd November through our Just Giving page. So please dig deep and support our team through TiMe To Face Your Fears.
