We've already discussed today how personalised promotional gifts can help make a client feel a little bit unique and special but now let's consider the other end of the market - the more generic printed giveaways and generically branded merchandise.
This type of merchandising best suits those who aren't targeting an individual for his/her attention but rather the mass market and/or for brand awareness. We've all been to a trade show I'm sure where we've been given a pen, or t-shirt etc without even doing very much. Chance are, many of you will have a printed mouse mat with somebody else's logo on it next to you as you read this. These weren't tailored for you, but were given so you'll remember the brand of that company in the same way major companies advertise on F1 racing cars and on football strips.
This approach of sending branded merchandise printed en-masse will mean the need for more initial items but the good news is the economies of scale...each unit cost will be lower than specially tailored personalised giveaways and more pairs of eyeballs will get to see your brand/logo and generosity!
There's no right/wrong approach as to whether to go for mass printed giveaways or personalised gifts, both will be loved and deliver a different approach to your marketing strategy!
