Go Green: Why Being Environmentally Friendly Can Be Great for Your Brand

With more and more people going ‘green’ in terms of their diet, the methods of transport they use and the way they recycle, we thought we would consider the benefits that ‘going green’ on your brand can have. In terms of promotional merchandise, we stock a wide range of eco-friendly promotional products that are increasingly popular, from mouse mats to ice scrapers to cotton bags – we want to consider why they are popular and what giving away eco-friendly promotional products says about your brand.

Firstly, eco-friendly promotional products can attract new customers. It sets your business apart from other brands; nowadays a lot of consumers choose greener brands as they want to have a positive influence on the environment. By demonstrating that you care about the environment, you will look more attractive to customers than competitors. You demonstrate that you are reducing the environmental impact of your business and improving sustainability by choosing eco-friendly products. In fact, research has demonstrated that customers are 55% more likely to purchase a company’s products/use their services if the company is environmentally responsible – in fact, consumers are willing to pay more for it.

Choosing eco-friendly products doesn’t mean that your choices are limited to wooden pencils. There is a huge range of options out there. To list a few of many that we have on our website:

  • Recycled plastic trolley coin
  • Bag for life
  • Dynamo torch
  • Skyspinner
  • Recycled tyre coaster
  • Enviro sports bag
  • Recyclable non-woven shopper bags

And the list goes on! The point we are trying to make is that you don’t have to sacrifice the promotional products that you love to buy, you can just trade them in for an eco-friendly upgrade!

Environmental consciousness continues to grow, and with that comes an increase in consumers demanding more green products and refusing plastics. In order to ensure that people want your promotional products, you should consider using products like the ones we have above that are either made from recycled materials or are made eco-friendly in another form.

It’s good for your company too. Studies have shown that employees want to work for companies that match their own values; Adecco ran a survey and found that 52% of employees feel the company they work for should be doing more about the environment. Therefore, by choosing eco-friendly promotional products, you are attractive to both consumers and your current employees.

If you do choose eco-friendly promotional products to ‘go green’, make sure you make a point about it in your marketing campaign to attract environmentally conscious consumers.
