How to Spark More Creativity in Your Marketing: Part 2

Marketing and creativity go hand in hand, but when you’re passionate about marketing but struggle to be creative, it can leave you a little in limbo. Part 2 of this series on how to spark more creativity in your marketing is designed to inspire you and leave you feeling like the creative genius that you – perhaps deep down – really are.

Explore the news of the marketing world

There is always a new concept in the marketing world being developed, from projecting makeup on a person’s face for a cosmetic line to using virtual reality and more - the boundaries of marketing are always being pushed. You can absolutely incorporate some of the ideas that are being explored in the marketing world into your own marketing, just follow relevant industry leaders and experts to see what they are doing and draw inspiration from this.

Offer two ideas

So, you may need to present an idea to your boss, or head of marketing, or team, and you’re stuck. Obviously, you want to wow them with your creativity but perhaps you just don’t know how this idea would come to fruition. You may have a safe idea too, but it’s a little dull. We recommend to, when you can, present two ideas.

One will be crazy and creative and may not even work but it’s just a great idea, and the other is a fail-safe option that doesn’t exactly push boundaries but will help reach your target. The idea behind pitching a scarier idea is that whilst you may not be able to see how it could work, someone else may be able to draw inspiration from it and see the method in your madness. Ultimately, this could really pay off will an exceptional, creative campaign! Just don’t be scared to have your ideas shut down – it’s an opportunity to showcase your talents and ideas and sometimes they don’t always pay off but at least you can demonstrate a new way to reach your target.

Your ability to be creative separates the top agencies with the best campaigns from the agencies with the safe but generally unexciting ideas. Your creativity is your strongest weapon in marketing – it sets your company apart from the rest. So get practicing with our top tips in order to boost your creativity to the next level!
