How to stand out at a trade show

In this week's blog, we are taking a look at ways to make your brand stand out at a trade show or exhibition. Having a great product or service is only good if you can get people visiting your stall and if no one stops to check out your service, no one is going to buy it. They need to be lured towards your stall and not your competitors, here are some tips from us.

The first step is attracting attention, it's very easy for a booth at a trade show to look boring and bland but there are many promotional tools you can use to brighten yours up. Banner flags are a great way to show off your brand's logo and if positioned right can be seen from a great distance. Also, a printed table cloth with your brand's logo across the front looks much better than a portable fold away table and is also another good opportunity to bring your stall to life with your brand's colours.

We all know that everyone loves a freebie if you're walking around a trade show and you see someone carrying a branded bag chances are when you come across that stall you're going to stop to see what they are offering so branding any bags you are giving out is a must!

It's also important to consider what goes into your bags, it's fine to giveaway brochures for your product or service (after all that is the reason you're there) but how about thinking outside the box with your giveaways? As well as making sure the potential customers get all the information they need you could also give away a game with your logo printed across it or maybe a puzzle, these sort of giveaways are great as they will keep your potential customer engaged long after they leave the show, therefore showing off your brands logo on the train journey home.

Another giveaway you should take into consideration is food and drink. Mints, sweets and bottles of water all carrying your brand's logo might be just what someone is after having been walking around countless stalls.

If your company is offering a service or a small product you may have some empty space on your stall. If this is the case then how about running a small game and offering up some branded prizes? If you offer a promotional mug with your logo on the side to anyone who hits a bullseye on a darts board or knocks down some tin cans, not only will they be happy with their prize but they will be showing off your logo every time they drink their morning coffee. Mugs are one the most effective promotional products as they have a high advertising impressions rate and a low production cost making them an easy way to get people seeing your companies name.

So, there are some tips to think about when planning your stall for your next trade show. If you've got any tips to add we'd love to hear from you so head over to our twitter page and give us a tweet.
