Feeling stressed at work? You're not alone

Today, (6th November 2013) sees the 15th Annual National Stress Awareness Day taking place. The purpose of the day? To raise awareness of stress and celebrate people beating stress in the workplace. National Stress Awareness Day gives those who suffer from the illness a 'voice' asking them to share their tips and tricks on how to beat stress.

How Is Stress Affecting The UK Adult Population?

The number of people being treated for stress-related illnesses rises every year and companies need to start taking stress-related illnesses more seriously. In fact, a recent survey conducted by Bupa showed that whilst not medically diagnosed, almost half of Britons would consider themselves to be stressed.

Stress levels were found to be highest in the age group of 45-54 and the biggest contributors were concerns about money followed by work and family life. Whilst a small amount of stress isn't believed to be particularly harmful, if stress is left over a long period it can lead to more serious long term mental diseases. It's important that people understand their 'breaking point' and when they are under too much stress to reduce the chance of it becoming harmful.
